The French philosopher and scientist Blaz Pascal was one of the founders of mathematical analysis and probability theory, as well as a brilliant writer. Being a deeply believing person, Pascal possessed an acute analytical mind, was a supporter of Jansenism in Catholicism. Constant reflections on the problems of religion led him to create many fragments of an essay, which later received the name “thought”. This work has become a classic of French literature. It represents deep philosophical thoughts about the nature of the world, the place of God in the life of man, the meaning of being. The aphoristic style, the brevity of definitions and clarity of presentation made this work the world famous, and interest in it does not weaken so far.
