Three in one boat, not counting the dog. Three on four wheels
For the first time, the Three in the boat, not counting the dogs, were published in England in 1889 and to this day remain an unsurpassed example of English humor. Jerome Clapka Jerome wrote a hilariously ridiculous story of three friends, from boredom and fictional diseases rafting along the Thames, under the impression of his own wedding trip, conducted on a small boat. At that time, “in fashion” were unrealistic characters of Conan Doyle, Kipling and Stevenson, and ordinary and somewhat ordinary friends of Ji, George and Harris became real heroes for English readers. Success was deafening. To date, the book was not only translated into almost all world languages - it has repeatedly filmed, adapted for the stage, television and radio. The novel influenced many comedians and satirists and also contributed to the development of river tourism.
