Vladimir Klavdievich Arsenyev is one of the most famous and brave researchers of Transbaikalia and the Far East. He made more than a dozen hiking expeditions, passed hundreds of kilometers through the endless taiga expanses and mountain ridges of the Ussuri Territory and Sikhote-Alin. But in all his campaigns, except for scientific diaries, Arsenyev necessarily conducted personal notes - sketches, sketches, impressions, meetings, interesting cases. It was from these records that his famous works were born later - the novels “In the Ussuri Territory” and “Dersu Uzala”, which became the classic of domestic adventure literature.

The book includes less well -known, but no less interesting novels and artistic essays of Vladimir Arsenyev. “In the mountains of Sikhote-Alin” is a fascinating story about the journey through the wild taiga, off-road and almost complete blhy. The author and his comrades passed more than a thousand kilometers, the journey lasted a year and a half. The story “Through the Taigu” is dedicated to the last big journey of Arsenyev along Sikhote-Alin and amazes with bright and juicy descriptions of nature and inhabitants of this region, and several small essays only complement the beautiful picture of the greatness and immaturity of the Far Eastern Territory.
