Titian Vechellio is one of the largest artists in world painting. He lived more than ninety years and worked until the last days, he entered the fine art as an unsurpassed colorist, a pioneer of many discoveries in most genres of painting, as the author of many unsurpassed works on which subsequent generations of artists studied and continue to study.

The future master was born in the town of Piev Dee Cadore in the foothills of the Alps. From the age of ten he comprehended the artistic business in Venice. He worked in the workshop of the Bellini brothers, and since 1508 he performed along with Georgon Freski in one of the public buildings of the city. The short joint work with the great master of the Renaissance ended in 1510, when Georgona tragically died during the plague epidemic. It is believed that Titian completed some works of his teacher-teacher. And already in 1516, Titian became an official artist of the Republic of Venice, remaining in this honorary position until his death. Dozens of masterpieces for religious, mythological, allegorical stories, beautiful portraits and landscapes highly ascend the artist. Strong worlds want to meet him, to see their court painter: the rulers of the regions and cities of Italy, the French king Francis I, the Spanish emperor Charles V, and then his son Philip II Spanish. For them, Titian executed numerous orders.

In the artist’s life there were periods when he corrected his work, and significant innovations sometimes appeared in him. The painter’s trip to Rome was interesting, where he met the creations of the masters of the eternal city (with the frescoes of Michelangelo, the “Last Judgment” among others) and presented his works to the art community. According to legend, Michelangelo expressed admiration for Titian's “Danai”, although he noted some fuzzy of the drawing. By the beginning of the 1560s, this “fuzzy” began to be increasingly visible in the works of the painter. Vasari noted that the works of the last period of Titian's work “are written by bold, swift strokes, color spots so that only at a distance they show their perfection.”
