Tools of mankind. Smith K.
CordViner Smith is one of the four pseudonyms of Paul Mayron Anthony Linbarger (1913 - 1966), a man of many talents born, as they say, with a gold spoon in his mouth. His father was a prominent diplomat, adviser and friend Sun Yatsen (the leader of China of the 1920s became the godfather of the small sex). Constant crossings, including security reasons, from the USA to Europe and Asia did not prevent the floor from learning six languages and getting a docto of political sciences at 23 years old. Having held a professor at John Hopkins University in Washington, he simultaneously collaborated with the CIA and developed the first in the US Army a section of the psychological war.
Stories and Roman K. Smith, dedicated to the world of instrumentation, went out of print from 1955 to 1966 year. The action of most of them takes place in the distant future, between 4000 and 14000 years. Humanity under the guidance of tools is gradually restored after the devastating ancient wars and begins to conquer the stars. For several millennia, people are settled by many planets, and... Stagnation occurs: robots and artificially bred mutants - half -people are busy with heavy and ungrateful labor, and people themselves are genetically programmed for certain activities. Realizing the threat of degeneration of civilization, the tools at the end of this period are trying to revive old earthly languages and traditions, and semi -people are freed from centuries of slavery.
