The content and volume of the material in the textbook complies with the requirements of the federal state educational standard and the approximate program for topographic anatomy and operational surgery.

The presentation of the material strictly corresponds to the principle of layer -by -layer study of the topographic anatomy of the regions of the human body using an international anatomical nomenclature ( Roman, 1999).

compared with the two previous publications, illustrative material has been improved, sections related to clinical aspects of topographic anatomy were expanded. In addition to tests for self -testing, situational tasks are introduced into the textbook. The chapter is not given with methodological materials on the main elements of operational equipment, since each department has its own methodological developments written in accordance with their experience of their presentation.

The textbook is intended for students of the III-IV courses of medical, pediatric, and medical -prophylactic, dental and military faculties of medical universities.
