This collection presents two outstanding works of the German writer Franz Kafka - “Transformation” and “Letter to the Father.”
“Transformation” is a story about Gregor Zamze, a salesman, for whom the usual morning turned out to be a nightmare. Changing his familiar life forever. How will the physical changes in the main character affect his relationship with his family and the psychological state? How the world will perceive its new “I”?
“Letter to the Father” is a deeply personal, frank text in which Kafka describes a complex relationship with his father. These letters are an attempt to understand their feelings and explore how relations with his father influenced his personal and professional life. Can words on paper help to overcome personal tragedies and find understanding?
The texts of the works are adapted to study the German language of the middle stage (B1-B2 levels-ObsStufe) and are equipped with comments. After the stories, exercises with keys are offered. At the end of the book - a dictionary of vocabulary used that facilitates reading.
