This book considers the modern status of the theory of translation, its subject and attitude to other disciplines. On the basis of a single concept with a wide actual material, fundamental problems of translation science are analyzed - the essence of the translation, equivalence, adequacy and translatability, as well as semantic and pragmatic aspects of the translation: the translated problems directly related to the theory of the text are highlighted.
