“Journey from St. Petersburg to New York” is a memoir-biographical opus about the heroes of the whole era. Soloviev and Klepikov knew Brodsky, Dovlatov, Baryshnikov, Shemyakin since Leningrad times and subsequently closely communicated, friends. All of them were formed as artists still in Leningrad, and were already attended by Ocean, in New York. In their book, the authors honestly and without embellishment describe the iconic characters of their generation, creating a voluminous, genuine, ambiguous portrait of our truly legendary compatriots.
