The famous Russian traveler and ethnographer N.N. Miklukho-Maclay discovered the unique nature of the New Guinea and the exotic culture of the Aborigines with the civilized world. In his diaries, he spoke about life and adventures among the wild tribes of the Maclay coast (named so during his lifetime). Now in those places there are aircraft of tourist airlines, but the Russian researcher and naturalist were the first to go down the ladder to the shore of the mysterious Papuasia.
