The most famous pirate novel was conceived by R. L. Stevenson (1850–1894) during a game with his adopted son. The painted card of the island brought the writer to write an adventure book - “A funny story for boys about pirates, battles and treasures”. The novel brought the writer world glory and became a classic example of adventure literature.
