In a modern society, where games gain more and more popularity and become more and more affordable, gambling, that is, a pathological fascination with a game, turns into a serious problem. In most cases, an excessive passion for the game has a negative impact on the personal, social and professional life of a person, giving rise to serious financial problems. Numerous scientific studies have demonstrated the high efficiency of cognitive-behavioral therapy of this pathology. This manual, compiled by the developers of the KPP program of gambling treatment, the effectiveness of which is confirmed by a number of empirical studies, includes all the information and materials necessary for the successful treatment of this pathology. Practice shows that most gamers have incorrect ideas about the nature of the game, in particular they are sure that they can “beat the system”. One of the central moments of this method of treatment is to help customers adjust their false performances and understand the true nature of gambling. The authors set out step -by -step instructions for therapists aimed at helping customers understand all aspects of their problem. In addition to adjusting the erroneous ideas of customers about playing games, this program is designed to train customers to solve problems, self -esteem techniques and launch a recognition and avoidance mechanism from them. This manual, which must be used in combination with the corresponding working notebook, ensures the achievement of the desired result in therapy carried out in supervision conditions, and can also be used to prevent relapse from customers in a longer term.
