”True does not need allies” - this is a kind of textbook, a detailed guide to photojournalism, a guide to action for those who want to get into the world of reporting photography, but do not know the road. In his book, Howard Chapnik thoughtfully collects the image of a photojournalist from the smallest fragments, carefully examining everyone under a microscope, he creates a picturesque and plausible picture. Sharing the experience (as positive and negative) of the dozens of his colleagues and wards, Chapnik builds a kind of alphabet, which pays attention to each aspects of the photojournalist, and the corresponding story from the life of the masters is given as an illustrating picture. Since the fact that “truth does not need allies” was written, ”the world has changed a lot. And although the book not only did not lose relevance, but, having passed the test of time, it became only more important and interesting for modern photographers, it would be stupid to turn a blind eye to these changes. In order to smooth out for the reader the transition from the modern to the worethly, we added the introductory chapter to the publication.
