The fifth edition of the book was processed and supplemented by new chapters about modern neuronauc, mono-and multineeropathy in a number of occupational diseases, differential diagnosis of multineuropathy with more rarely encountered polyneuropathies, including recently detected transistine amyloid, chronic inflammatory demyelineuropathy.

The many years of experience of the collective of neurologists of the clinic and the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery of the First St. Petersburg State Medical University named after Academician I.P. Pavlova on the study of pathogenesis, etiology, clinical picture, diagnosis and treatment of compression-irisial lesions of nerves at the level of the so-called tunnels-areas where the nerve passes through bone-purseline or fascial channels, as well as through the thickness of spasmodic muscles. Tunnel syndromes are lit at the level of the neck, belts of the upper and lower extremities, the body. Clinical and electrophysiological criteria are given for differential diagnosis of various tunnel syndromes.
