Turkestan. Svechin N.
June 1894. Leaving the police department, Alexei Lykov, along with his friend Titus, go to Turkestan to sell the forest for the construction of railways. Tashkent - a city on the Great Silk Road - meets travelers with beautiful mosques, bright carpets and crowded streets. It would seem that nothing can violate the usual and measured life of the townspeople. But Tashkent is amazed at a series of bloody and brutal murders. The strangest thing is that all the victims are Russian settlers.
Who is behind this? The newly made timber prisoners decide to help the police officer of the native part, Colonel Skobeev, to investigate this confusing business, which, as it turns out, is involved not only in Muslim fanatics...
