Udolf secrets. Radcliff A.
Anna Radcliffe is an English writer, one of the creators of the Gothic novel. For seven years, she wrote novels that glorified her throughout Europe, after which Anna Radcliffe forever postponed the feather, deciding that loud glory prevents the peace of mind. Almost all the great English writers of the XIX century have been influenced by its influence in one way or another: Walter Scott, Dickens, Charlotte Bronte, Stevenson, Mine Reed. In Russia, the “terrible” prose of Radcliffe has remained almost the most popular foreign literature for many years. Dostoevsky wrote that Radcliffe's novels excited him from childhood, and Zagoskin recognized her as one of his beloved authors.
“Udolf secrets” is the most popular work of Anna Radcliffe, full of terrible secrets, mystical forebodings, paranormal and tragic events. From the very first pages, the reader plunges into that special atmosphere, which is a distinctive feature of the greatest Gothic novel of the late 18th century.
In this edition for the first time in Russia, the text of the novel is accompanied by illustrations of French artists of the 19th century.
