Uncle Tom's hut. Harriet Beche-Stow
“Uncle Tom’s hut” is the outstanding novel by Harriet Beche -Stow, directed against slavery in the United States. Sulfurled by universal humanistic ideals, Roman immediately after the publication caused a broadest resonance, dividing society into those who extolled, and those who cursed the “Uncle Tom’s hut”. The scatter of opinions was so wide that at the end of the 19th century in the US literature a separate direction “Anti-Tom of Literature” appeared, within the framework of which various prominent authors of their time sought to substantiate the benefits of slavery to the slaves themselves and “forever forget” Bucher-Stow Roman. In the end, the situation in society was inflamed to the limit and, according to many historians and literary critics, it was the “Uncle Tom’s hut” that served as a catalyst for the outbreak of the Civil War in the United States. The most important result of the Civil War was the thirteenth amendment to the US Constitution, which has forever banned slavery. The history of the Tom’s Board, its misfortunes and wandering, which also includes a thorough portrait of the morals of the era, remains an obligatory point in the educational program of any person who is striving to find out the prerequisites for the formation of the modern appearance of our civilization and its ethical component.
