Unfinished traditions of Numenor and Middle -earth. Tolkien J. R. R.
After the death of J.R.r. Tolkin, a mass of materials completely or fully prepared for printing remained in his archive: sketches, stories, legends, essays - the grandiose foundation on which the monumental building of the Lord of the Rings grew. In 1980, his son Christopher picked up and published the first collection, “The unfinished traditions of Numenor and Middle -earth”, which tells about the characters, events and geographical objects, casually mentioned in the “Lord of the Rings”: about the loss of the Ring of the Ring of Eligence in the Iris fields, about the origin of the gandalph , about the foundation of Rohan and much more. Each legend is accompanied by extensive comments that clarify the contradictions and inconsistencies in the text. This publication aroused great interest among numerous fans of the great writer, and later Christopher continued to work with his father’s archive. In the present legendarium of Middle -earth is 12 volumes.
