The book is devoted to the analysis of changes in the Soviet foreign policy in relation to the Gomintan (National Party of China), in the period 1923–1942. Based on the published and archival materials, the development of Soviet-Chinese cooperation is considered from the point of view of a holistic and successive process. The work shows how, under the influence of the international situation and domestic political factors, the course of the Soviet Union in relation to the Kuomintan during 1923-1942. He underwent the transformation from the priority support of the communist, national liberation movement to the pragmatic geopolitical approach, on the basis of the idea of ​​ensuring the safety of the Far Eastern borders of the USSR.
