“Venus, or as I was a serf” - the story of the Belarusian writer Ales Adamovich, which was not published in Russia, which was not published in Russia, which was brought by books about the war. The author’s novels were translated into more than 20 languages.
This story was first printed during the life of the author in the magazine “Neyoman” in 1992. It echoes the documentary book “I am from the Fiery Village” (Adamovich A., Bryl Y., Kolesnik V.), telling about the inhumanity of fascism in the stories of those who survived, who were not burned in huts, barns, in churches. The 1970s, and only during the years of perestroika and publicity, 50 years after the war, did the opportunity come to tell a simple truth about it. This is a story about the war and the village, it contains a lot of autobiographical, documentary, which is organically included, woven into the artistic text of the narrative.
, through the confession of the nameless hero, the short life of Venus Stankevich is revealed, its tragedy is shown, which mainly repeats the fate hundreds of thousands of Belarusians in the Great Patriotic War and the first post -war years.
