View from Montblan. Sokolovskaya N.
The book “View from Montblan” included five stories: “My aunt Augustus”, “Mozart in three in the afternoon”, “View from Montblan”, “Vintage” and “Bitch in the Bots”. These novels and a separate book “Draw God” are fastened not only by the Leitmotif system, the scene and the tone of the narrator, but also the community of heroes. Both the novels and the novel are formed in a single epic text.
Prose of Natalia Sokolovskaya is realistic with an extraordinary, "hallucinogenic" fidelity of details. But there is something in it that goes beyond realism and social protest: ordinary “communal” people at any moment can turn into mythological heroes, and their place of residence - a biblical “place of visaless and deserted”, where an unnamed river flows near the dwelling and those who live are inhabited by those who already has no names - a boy, a girl, an old man...
poet Marina Kudimova: “The book has novels written with such pain and in such a beautiful Russian tradition, so thin that they are so thin that they I was just amazed. "
