“Vladimir Red Sun” is included in the cycle of historical novels by Boris Vasiliev about the princes of Ancient Rus' along with the books “Prophetic Oleg”, “Olga, Queen of the Rus”, “Prince Svyatoslav”, “Yaroslav and his sons”, “Vladimir Monomakh”.

In Russian epics, the Kiev prince Vladimir is called the red sun, and he entered Russian history as Vladimir the Holy - during his reign, the baptism of Rus' took place.
