Voices of summer. Pilcher R.
Books by Rosamunda Pilcher (1924–2019) know and love all over the world. Her novels are uncomplicated and leisurely, but they have a lot of genuine warmth and cordiality. The writer’s credo can be characterized by the phrase: “Good people will always be fine” - and in this case it is the key to sustainable reader success. The novel “Voice of Summer” echoes the famous “Rebecca” Dumoria, written almost half a century earlier. A marriage with a divorced man was a real test for Laura-it seems to her that she could not withstand comparison with his first beautiful wife. Agreeing to stay with her husband in the wonderful corner of Cornwall, Laura gradually gets rid of uncertainty and begins to attach to the people with whom her fate brought down. But a quiet, measured life violates an evil anonymous letter.
