Nicholas Erfa finds a collection of English poetry with bookmarks in several places, a towel and fins on a deserted beach by the god of a forgotten Greek island. This cannot belong to any of the locals: new people appeared on the island. The abandoned villa comes to life. Nicholas makes inquiries, but few locals are reluctant to talk about the house. The atmosphere of mystery and confusion of history lead Nicholas to the house of Mr. Conchis.

Mr. Conchis invites Nicholas to tea, to dinner, involves his theater and, as a result, in his game. Nicholas will have a game with reality and in reality, where he is not assigned more than one role, but a series of roles. Concishes sends Nicholas on a trip, at the end of which, when all the masks are removed, Nicholas will meet with himself.
