Henry Toro, an American writer, “The inspector of the storm and snow storms”, at twenty -eight years retired from society and, having built himself a house in the forest on the shores of the Waldensky pond, settled in it for two years. So one of the most amazing books in the history of literature appeared - "Walden, or life in the forest." Toro's story about two years spent alone with nature has become a classic of American literature. His life at Lake Toro sought to show contemporaries with their cult of material prosperity, that it is possible to live happily and happily outside of society, satisfying all the natural needs with his own labor, he contrasted the freedom from material concerns, solitude, self -sufficiency, contemplation and proximity to nature.
