Wandering troupe. Roman in 2 parts. Leikin N.A.
It was hard for the actors to be a small troupe of Kotomtsev that had not received the engagement for the winter season, they have to wander around small county cities and try to attract the audience there, and not in the capital. This audience, however, with much greater pleasure, will not look at Ostrovsky’s plays (and the merchants will also be offended that they laugh at them), but magicians, clowns and trained dogs. And so the actors turn out to be in debt as in silk, but still trying to stand the performances with the hope of getting a sufficient fee. And as if there was little his problems for them, a young merchant son, captivated by the beauty of one of the actresses, was linked behind them. As always with N.A. Leikina, the reader is waiting for the honed style of the Satirist, laughter through tears and many interesting household details and take time.
