The book of the Protopresbyter Alexander Shmeman “Water and Spirit” is a historical and theological study telling about the emergence and development of the clearance of the Sacrament of Baptism, its interpretation, as well as a convincing criticism of the modern practice of this sacrament. According to the author, baptism is the beginning in which a person joins Christ and is reborn into a new life. O. Alexander perfectly coped with the main task of his study - revealed the fundamental unity of worship, creed and life of the Church. That is why this work is a call to believe in God - the Father, put on God - Son and live in the Holy Spirit.
