We. 1984. Zamyatin Evgeny Ivanovich, Orwell George
The novels of “We” E. Zamyatin and “1984” by J. Orwell are one of the most read anti -utopias of the twentieth century. Both novels show the world of the future that humanity awaits. How does the authors see it? This is a strict regulated life in a single state without borders, with the subsequent death of the very concept of “state”. It is controlled in it by a political system based on total control and systematic “brainwashing” (“benefactor” by Zamyatin and “senior brother” by Orwell). The purpose of this system is to create a new person without a past, not burdened by the experience of previous generations, deprived of not only individuality, freedom, rights to their own opinion and private life, but even the name: “number” are ideal gears of the state machine. And the sterilized world of Zamyatin is no less terrible than dirty, from flesh and blood the world of Orwell.
