Web and rock. Wolf T.
Thomas Wolf (1900–1938) - an American writer, a representative of the so -called lost generation - a generation of born and matured during the First World War and failed to get used to a peaceful life after it. The Web and the Rock is the first part of the dilogy, published after the death of Wolf, in 1939. The second part - “There is no return home” - was published a year later. Wolfe tells the story of the young ambitious writer George Webber, his growing up, apprenticeship, love.
“This is a novel about the discovery by one person of life and the world,” the author writes in the preface and calls the novel “the most objective” of all those written, because the path that is traveled by his hero is the path of searching and errors - sign - sign to everyone, because it is passed by everyone.
