West and East. National cultures and economic development. Monograph. Ivashkovsky S.N.
The monograph investigates the influence of ethical attitudes and sociocultural values of Western European and East Asian countries on economic thinking and behavior of people, their choice of institutions and development models. Particular attention is paid to the explanation of the reasons for the industrial take-off of China, as well as cultural and institutional barriers on the path of its transition to a post-industrial society. The factors of the cultural identity of Russia and its influence on the socio-economic development of the country are analyzed. Economic capabilities and risks are revealed, including cultural ones, which are fraught with Russia's turn to the east. The contradictions of modern cultural globalization are shown, which became the power of not only uniting peoples, but also causing discord and conflicts between countries of different cultural identities.
The monograph will be useful not only to students, graduate students and teachers of public disciplines of universities, but also to persons whose professional activities are related to international business and intercultural communication.
