What I saw. Essays and pamphlets (16+). Hugo V.
Victor Hugo (1802-1885) is known to the Russian reader primarily as the author of the novels “Cathedral of the Parisian Mother of God”, “outcast”, “ninety -third year” and others. But the role of Hugo in the cultural, social and political history of the XIX century - and and Not only France, but throughout Europe, is incomparably wider. He was one of the most striking publicists of the era, the whole world listened to his voice. This book contains the most significant performances of the writer - in the press and in parliamentary hearings - on the most pressing issues of culture and the policy of his time. They still retain their relevance.
A significant part of the published texts was translated into Russian for the first time.
