This book is an attempt to consistently state the teachings of the Orthodox Church about passions, sin and the fight against them, as well as to show in what guise passions in the modern world act, how they control the behavior of man. The book relies on Orthodox psychology, it gives many examples of both the life of our contemporaries with you, and from the life of Christian ascetics and saints. When working with the book, the experience of secular psychology was also used.

The purpose of the publication is to try to give the reader the initial ideas about Christian life, the ascetic teaching of the fathers and ascetics of the Church - the doctrine of the moral state of the personality, about the soul of a person and the passions acting in it, about the true goals of human life, about holiness. The book is intended for all those interested in Christian psychology and the teachings of the Orthodox Church about passions and the fight against them.
