White fortress. Pamuk O.
Orhan Pamuk is a famous Turkish writer, the owner of numerous national and international awards, including the Nobel Prize in Literature for "finding the soul of his melancholy city." The soul of the city is always found in its past, perhaps therefore, the talent of Pamuke is so brilliantly manifested in historical novels, such as “the name to me - red” and “white fortress”. The plot of the “White Fortress”, the action of which takes place in the 17th century, is simultaneously simple and mysterious, like an ancient Arabic miniature: the main character, a young Italian, is captured by the Turks, where the slave of a strange man obsessed with the knowledge of the universe becomes. However, the most exciting secret lies in an amazing similarity between the Italian captive and Turkish scientist who are similar to each other, like two drops of water.
