White Guard. Bulgakov M.A.
The White Guard is the first big work of Bulgakov and the only novel that was published during the life of the author. For the first time-in the journal "Russia" back in 1925, the novel was completely published in France in 1927-1929.
This is the history of the 1918 Civil War, the story of the collapse of the Ustaev and traditions, designed by an eyewitness and a participant in those events. But at the same time, it is an interesting, largely autobiographical family saga.
Almost all characters have prototypes - relatives, friends, acquaintances of the Bulgakov families. Turbines are a lost generation. The former homeland is no longer... Moral guidelines staggered, but resisted. And now, in the madness of the time, the heroes are trying to preserve at least a small fraction of what they believed in at all costs, what they cherished...
The work has repeatedly filmed: the feature film "Running" (1970) Alexander Alov and Vladimir Naumova, taken based on the works of Bulgakov, “Days of the Turbins” (1976) by Vladimir Basov, Sergey Snezhkin’s multi -part film “White Guard” (2012).
