White Guard. Bulgakov M.A.
In the autobiographical novel “White Guard” Mikhail Afanasevich Bulgakov presented the life of a family from among the Russian intelligentsia, which fell into the very thick of the Civil War in Ukraine of 1918, when the Germans left the city and the troops of Petlyuras came to their place.
The prototypes of the heroes were relatives, friends and numerous acquaintances of the Bulgakov houses, who, together with the streets of Kyiv, served the scenery of the events described in the novel. It is even known that one of the writer’s sisters was offended by him for the use of her and her relatives as the prototype of the Turbine family, which, nevertheless, did not prevent her brother from publishing her first novel.
