The plot is based on a fantastic story about how the yard dog ball as a result of a surgical operation carried out by the famous Professor Preobrazhensky turns into aggressive rude and Sharikov's drunkard. M. Bulgakov wrote this story in 1925, however, like many other works of the author, it was published after his death - only in 1987.
