Women and Power: Manifesto. Mary Bird
How deeply in Western culture are mechanisms that deprive women of the right to vote in the public sphere, denying them seriously and cut off them from the possibility of being in power?
I look around the long history of the Western tradition of excluding women from public and political life from antiquity to the present day, a well -known historian, professor of Cambridge University Mary Bird asks a number of questions: what is the cultural background of sexism in politics, what forms he takes on ? How are Western societies used to watch women with power or seeking it? The search for answers to these questions is designed to help to overcome, finally, the centuries -old inequality, from which women continue to suffer. According to the author, if women are excommunicated from existing power institutions, we probably should reconsider our understanding of the authorities.
