Women's story Beatles. Feldman-Barrett K.
In the early 1960s, the rock band The Beatles has won the frenzied popularity in Europe and America. The same period was marked by another important social trend - the rise of the second wave of feminism. Two global cultural phenomena had a direct influence on each other: the music of the Liverpool four inspired the representatives of their generation to self -determination, and in the biographies and work of the Beatles themselves the female presence was always very significant.
In his book, Christina Feldman-Barrett analyzes personal and mediated (through music, television and other mediators) relations that have developed with this group among women of different generations. The author gives the floor to the groups of the group-from the girls from the Mersisaid who tried to get to the concert of The Beatles in the 1960s, to our contemporaries-and also addresses the stories of wives, mothers and other women surrounding musicians. Thus, the researcher proposes to reconsider the traditional approach to the historiography of the Beatles and enter this cultural phenomenon into a wide socio-historical context associated with female emancipation.
