Works. T. 5. Galen., Comp. Balalykina D.A.
The real edition included five treatments of Galen-an outstanding Roman doctor and philosopher of the 2nd-III centuries, the creator of the theoretical and practical system, which became the basis for the development of medicine and natural science up to the scientific discoveries of the 17th century. Its works contain valuable information on the history of medicine of the proto -scientific period. Each treatise is accompanied by a comment in which the historical and medical analysis of the basic ideas of Galen is presented. The compositions presented in the publication are a characteristic example of the connection of the general theoretical, natural philosophical views of Galen and his practical activity as a doctor, demonstrate the excellent ownership of the empirical method and skills of synthetic thinking, based on the principles of rational medicine. The methodology proposed in the publication allows us to show the mutual influence of natural philosophy and medicine and comprehensively comprehend the historical significance of Galen's works.
