World Light. Rev. Seraphim Sarov. Benjamin (Fedchenkov), Metropolitan

The book "World Light. Rev. Seraphim of Sarov ”was written by Metropolitan Benjamin (Fedchenkopym) in 1933 and was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the death of St. Seraphim of Sarov. Being a wonderful spiritual writer, Vladyka Veniamin turned to life literature with particular love, stories about the sungls of God, their exploits and miraculous Iys. So, in 1930-1931, in Paris and Vienna, Metropolitan Benjamin began work on the manuscript of Iodes by the name “from that world”, which tells about the events incomprehensible to the human mind, about the miracles and signs of God.

A significant place in this work was dedicated to the holy elder Seraphim of Sarov. The book “The World Lamp” included chapters from the above manuscript, as well as meaningful and revised by the author of the biographies of the Monk Seraphim, compiled by monks by Sergius, George and Joasaf, N.V. Yelagin, L. I. Denisov. In addition, the memoirs of N. A. Motov-Lova, N. Aksakova, the records of Archimandrite Seraphim (Chichagova) and S. A. Nilus are given. The creation of Metropolitan Benjamin contains the author’s experience of a detailed description and interpretation of the spiritual path of the holy elder Seraphim and is rightfully considered one of the best biographies of the Monk Sarov Miracle Worker.
