Young guard. Fadeev A.
Alexander Fadeev in 1946 wrote the novel “Young Guard” based on real events: in Krasnodon, very young guys, yesterday’s schoolchildren, finding themselves in the occupation, managed to unite and provide fierce resistance to the enemy. They fought as they could, for their youthful ideals, for self -esteem, for their homeland. The organization was disclosed by the enemy, and most of its participants died.
However, A. Fadeev was stiffly criticized by the Communist Party and was forced to process his work: in a new, more “ideologically verified” version of Roman (1951), adult party members acted as the creators of the underground. The famous film by S. Gerasimov in 1948 was also subjected to serious changes, was also changed, was transferred and re-sounded in 1964.
Today, readers are offered the original author’s text of the “Young Guard”. The tragic story of young heroes over time has not lost its relevance, because honor and dignity, love and friendship always resist fear, adaptability, betrayal...
