Younger Edda. Sturluson S.
Before readers is a great work of the medieval Icelandic writer Snorri Sturluson “The Younger Edda”, which has become the only one of a kind in the treasury of world literature. This translation gives a prologue, which refers to the creation of the world, part “Vision of Gulvi”, which describes the creation and destruction of the world of the Scandinavian gods and sets out other stories from Scandinavian mythology, and part of the “language of poetry”, dedicated to the general principles of scaldical poetry with mythological clarification.
The book is recommended for historians, literary scholars, philologists, as well as a wide circle of readers who are interested in Old Nescanavian poetry and mythology.
