Thomas - an average American of thirty -four years - feels that life has lost its meaning, and tries to understand himself and in the society in which he lives. His head is torn from torment, fears, unfulfilled plans and, most importantly, from questions. And there is only one way to find answers - ask. Then Thomas, one by one, abducts people with whom he would like to talk: an astronaut, ex-Kongressman, school teacher, his own mother, policeman, doctor and even random passers-by.

Why doesn't the astronaut fly to the moon? Why did the state have no money for this, but five trillions of dollars have just been spent on a meaningless war? Can the twelve police officers armed to the teeth can surround one person with a steak knife and this execution in the backyard will be the outcome of this? Why does the mother never give the proper achievements? And most importantly - how to overcome despair, find yourself and your place in life?
