Zhaba Alfons. Krylov I.A.
The series of “Master of Book Illustrations” is designed to introduce readers to the work of the most famous world illustrator artists. The next issue is dedicated to the Russian painter and watercolist Alfons Konstantinovich Zhab (1878-1942).
In 1914, by order of the famous publishing house A.F. Devrien, he created a series of illustrations for the Book of Basen Ivan Krylov. It was this publication that took an important place among the rest of the artist’s works. While Krylov noticed and sharpened human vices and disadvantages, funny aspects of life and household curves, Zhaba found a simple, well -aimed form of the drawing, consonant with the language of the writer's works and perfectly complementing them.
