ZhZL. Monarchs of Britain. Erlikhman V.V.
The royal power in England has a long history and venerable traditions. For centuries, the conquerors, the Romans, the Anglo -Saxons, the Scandinavians and, finally, the Franco -Normanders, rolled over the British Islands. All of them brought with them their traditions and cultural influences, whose alloy formed the unique whole, which is now called the UK.
Having survived the centuries of external and internal wars, rebellions, coups and executions, the British monarchy learned to find a common language with different political forces, to respect the opinion of subjects of all classes and nations. The book of historian Vadim Erlichman includes portraits of twelve British kings and queens based on documentary sources - from the legendary Arthur to the now reigning Elizabeth II. The author also briefly talks about the reign of all other monarchs of England and Great Britain, starting from the country's unifier - Egbert Wessex.
At the end of the book, reference materials are given, including lists of kings.
