The true name of the author hiding behind the pseudonym Kurban Said still causes disputes. His famous novel "Ali and Nino" was first published in 1937 in Vienna. For a long time the book was considered lost, and only in the 70s of the XX century its English translation was discovered. The characters of the book triumphantly returned to the shelves of bookstores to become one of the most famous couples of the XX century. Today, the novel is translated into thirty -three languages, plays are placed on it, films are made, and a monument was erected in Batumi.

On the eve of the Russian Revolution of 1917, an ardent Muslim Ali and the Beautiful Christian Nino fell in love with each other. They almost do not hope to connect their destinies, because religion and customs prohibit a similar union. Thanks to the intercession of a friend who convinces their loved ones to agree to this marriage, their passionate dream gets a chance to come true...
