A textbook for grade 6 continues the new line of the UMK in biology for grades 5-9, created by the author’s team under the leadership of Sivoglazova V.I. He meets the basic curriculum on biology (in the amount of 1 hour/week) and the author's work program. It discusses issues devoted to the study of plant organisms (the main features, plant cell, tissues and organs of plants, the structure and vital activity of the plant organism). The combination of a traditional approach in the sequence of studying biological courses (plants, animals, humans) and the concentric principle of structuring the material (with the basics of general biology in 9 cells) made it possible to combine the best experience of the Russian school. The textbook is a reliable tool that helps to achieve educational results in biology and provides:

- a further deepening of knowledge about plants as part of wildlife;

- the expansion of cognitive interests, intellectual and creative abilities of students ;

- the formation and development of skills associated with the implementation of laboratory and practical works;

- the education of a responsible and careful attitude to the surrounding nature, the formation of environmental thinking;

- the development of cognitive, practical and creative activity of students. The implementation of the author’s concept was carried out within the framework of a single approach to the content, methodology and principles of constructing a training book throughout the line. The main material of paragraphs expands the heading “for curious”, and the methodological component contains a system of tasks that allows you to work out a wide list of skills and competencies. The unified navigation system of textbooks allows you to rationally and effectively organize the educational process, including using different learning technologies.
