The widower of Ryati Miyamoto, an ordinary middle -level employee, suddenly marries Akiko Ivaki, a successful careerist. His little daughter Miyuki, still yearning for a deceased mother, accepts the appearance of the stepmother in the house in hostility.

Akiko tries to become a caring mother and housekeeping with all his might, but for a former careerist, who has been devoting to work for a long time and therefore not even knowing elementary things, this turns into an endless series of comic situations.

Gradually, the ice in the relationship between the stepmother and daughter melts, but Miyuki begins to ask himself: why dad and akiko got married and why do they behave not like other married couples?
