Boilles are balls of 5 to 30 mm in size, consisting of the base (semolina, corn or soy flour), mixtures of ground cereals, vegetable oil, eggs or egg powder, a variety of protein additives in the form of meat, fish or bone flour, flavorings, as well as gluing substances (starch, casein, gelatin). Sounding boilies are most often used in fishing fish, feeding from the bottom, such as carp or bream, in ponds with a clean hard bottom. They can also be used as a bait.
