Cochia flowers "summer cypress", sed. ALT, c/p, 0.3 g
Annual fast -growing herbaceous plant. It forms a compact lush bush of a cylindrical shape up to 1 m high. Numerous twigs are covered with thin, long needle -shaped leaves, so Kochiya is often compared with miniature coniferous trees. Flowering is plain, but thanks to the juicy greenery of openwork foliage and a beautiful form, the plant is decorative all season. It is easy to haircut, from Kochia they create hedges of any configuration. In the fall, the foliage blushes and fills the garden with bright autumn shades. The plant looks great in a flower garden, on the lawn, among stones or along garden paths, single green bushes or in a group look spectacular, in linear plantings it is used as a miniature green hedge. A photophilous, rather unpretentious plant, prefers open sunny areas, but can grow in partial shade. The soil should be loose, well -drained, with a neutral reaction, without stagnation of moisture. It is grown both through seedlings and straight sowing seeds in open ground. In early April, sowing is carried out for seedlings in boxes with light sandy soil. Cochia seeds sprout only in the light, so they are evenly distributed over the surface of the wet soil and only slightly pressed into the ground. Crops are covered with a transparent film, regularly ventilating and removing condensate. After the emergence, the shelter is removed. Grown seedlings dive into separate cups. Seedlings are planted in the ground in late May - early June, when the threat of frost passes. Sowing seeds in the open in the ground is carried out as soon as the soil warms up, from mid -April to May. The shoots are thinned out with an interval of 10-15 cm if you want to get a continuous green border or 20-30 cm to grow single bushes. When sowing kochia in the ground, small frosts are kept.
